Afro Culture Connect set to unite Zimbabwe, Jamaica at HICC

Zimbabwe and Jamaica are set for a rare cultural convergence next month as leading local and international artists headline the inaugural Afro Culture Connect concert at the Harare International Convention Centre.
Gateway Stream Media, in partnership with Massive Events and Roughmix, will host the showcase on April 4, 2026, under the theme “A Tale of Two Cities.”

The event is expected to bring together music lovers for a night celebrating African and Caribbean heritage.

Top billing will feature Zimbabwean music star Jah Prayzah alongside Jamaican reggae sensation Alaine, in what organisers describe as a cultural bridge between the two nations.
Gateway Stream Media Manager, Elton Kurima, said the event aims to showcase the deep musical connections shared by Zimbabwe and Jamaica.

“The event will showcase two outstanding headline acts — Zimbabwe’s music superstar Jah Prayzah and Jamaican reggae sensation Alaine. They will be supported by a dynamic and energetic line-up of local performers, bringing together a rich blend of musical styles and cultural expression,” Kurima said.

He added that the concert has been carefully curated to deliver a high-quality entertainment experience.

“This carefully curated line-up is designed to deliver a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience that celebrates the strong cultural ties between Zimbabwe and Jamaica, promising audiences an unforgettable night of music, unity and vibrant performance,” he said.
The supporting acts include Feli Nandi, Xiba, Nisha T, Kadjah, Volts JT, Ninety6, Raymar, Ngwere Diki and Kadiki.
Kurima said audiences can expect a vibrant mix of African rhythms and reggae sounds, driven by high-energy performances from both headline and supporting acts.
“Alaine is known for her captivating stage presence and dancehall-inspired reggae sound, while Jah Prayzah brings his signature Zimbabwean musical excellence. The concert is titled A Tale of Two Cities, celebrating the coming together of Zimbabwe and Jamaica through music and culture,” he said.
He said the event goes beyond entertainment to promote cultural exchange.
“Afro Culture Connect is more than just a concert — it’s a celebration of identity, music and cultural exchange that unites audiences through shared African and Caribbean heritage,” Kurima said.
Tickets are currently available through selected outlets, with early bird tickets already sold out amid strong demand. Organisers said standard tickets are being released in phases, starting from US$30 for general access and US$60 for VIP, with prices rising in subsequent phases.
