Heritage Expeditions Africa (HEXA) has introduced a set of educational travel packages aimed at schools, as it moves to tap into growing demand for experiential learning.
The packages are designed to take learning beyond the classroom, combining travel with curriculum-linked activities in history, geography and environmental studies.
Announcing the initiative, the company said it is inviting schools to take up its 2026 programme built around structured, short-stay tours.
“Heritage Expeditions Africa (HEXA) is inviting schools to unlock immersive, curriculum-enhancing travel experiences with its 2026 School Packages,” the company said.
“Carefully curated to combine learning, exploration and adventure, these two nights, three days educational tours provide students with meaningful exposure to Zimbabwe’s natural, cultural and historical heritage, all within a safe and structured environment.”
The company said the programme is designed to align with classroom objectives while offering practical exposure.
“Designed to complement classroom objectives while fostering critical thinking, teamwork and experiential learning, the programmes transform destinations into living classrooms,” HEXA said.
“From heritage landmarks and national monuments to wildlife sanctuaries and geological wonders, each itinerary balances academic value with adventure, ensuring students gain practical insight, broadened perspective and lasting memories.”
The tours will run across key destinations including Harare, Victoria Falls, Kariba, Bulawayo, Nyanga and Masvingo, with itineraries covering sites such as Great Zimbabwe, Khami Ruins and Matobo National Park.
HEXA said the packages are fully organised to ease planning for schools.
“With organised transport, guided activities and meal plans, schools can expect a seamless, well-coordinated travel experience that prioritises both educational depth and student safety,” the company said.
The move positions HEXA to benefit from a niche but growing segment in the tourism sector, where schools are increasingly looking for structured, outcome-based trips rather than traditional excursions.
HEXA operates under Rainbow Tourism Group and focuses on heritage and educational travel, alongside adventure and corporate packages.
